A load switch is a power management device that connects or disconnects a power rail to a load using a low-resistance MOSFET. Load switches provide controlled turn-on slew rate to limit inrush current, reverse current blocking, and short-circuit protection. They are used for power sequencing, power domain isolation, and reducing standby power consumption by completely disconnecting unused circuits.

Selecting a battery charger requires considering input voltage range, maximum charge current, battery chemistry, and thermal constraints.
