What is the difference between MIPI DSI and MIPI CSI?

MIPI DSI (Display Serial Interface) is for connecting to displays - it carries video data from host to display panel. MIPI CSI (Camera Serial Interface) is for connecting to cameras - it carries image data from camera sensor to host processor. They use similar physical layer but different protocols. MacroSilicon offers converters for both: MS9332 converts HDMI to MIPI DSI for displays, while MS9601 converts MIPI CSI to HDMI for cameras.

Use DSI for displays, CSI for cameras. Choose converter based on your source and target interfaces.

What resolutions are supported?

MacroSilicon interface converters support a wide range of resolutions. MS9332 supports up to 4K (3840x2160) at 60fps for high-resolution displays. MS9601 supports up to 1080p60 for camera applications. Lower resolutions like 720p, 480p are also supported. The chips automatically detect input resolution and configure output accordingly. Check specific datasheets for detailed resolution support.
