Selecting the right MacroSilicon USB capture chip involves analyzing your input source (HDMI, analog, or camera), required resolution (1080p or 4K), frame rate needs (30fps or 60fps), and target USB interface (USB 2.0 or USB 3.0). For HDMI 1080p60 capture, MS2130 is ideal. For 4K capture, choose MS2131. For analog sources, MS2109 provides universal compatibility. Consider output format requirements (MJPEG, YUY2) and software compatibility.

MacroSilicon offers several 4K-capable products. The MS2131 USB capture chip supports HDMI 2.0 input up to 4K30. The MS9332 HDMI to MIPI DSI converter supports 4K display output. The MS1820 video scaler can process 4K resolutions for up/down conversion. For 4K streaming applications, the MS2131 provides hardware encoding to reduce host CPU load. Check individual datasheets for specific 4K format and frame rate support.

For 4K capture, use MS2131. For 4K display conversion, use MS9332. Verify format compatibility with your specific requirements.

MacroSilicon HDMI converters have varying HDCP support depending on the model and application. USB capture chips like MS2130/MS2131 typically do not support HDCP-encrypted content capture for compliance reasons. HDMI to display converters like MS9332 pass through HDCP signals transparently.
