Firstack FAS-200 high-drive ASIC for large SiC modules. Features ±20A drive capability with 40ns delay for high-power...
Product Overview
Description
The Firstack FAS-200 extends the capabilities of the FAS-100 to higher power levels with increased drive capability and voltage rating. This ASIC is specifically designed for driving large SiC MOSFET modules used in high-power applications such as EV traction inverters, renewable energy systems, and industrial drives. The ±20A drive capability ensures fast switching of large modules while the 40ns propagation delay supports high-frequency operation.
The FAS-200 supports gate voltages optimized for SiC devices (+15V/-3V to -5V) with programmable levels via the digital interface. Advanced protection features include DESAT detection with configurable threshold, active Miller clamping, and soft shutdown. The QFN-24 package provides improved thermal performance compared to smaller packages, essential for high-drive applications. The ASIC is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

FAE Expert Insights
"The FAS-200 is my recommendation for automotive SiC traction inverters. The ±20A drive is essential for large SiC modules (300A+) used in EVs. The 40ns delay helps minimize dead time, improving efficiency. AEC-Q100 qualification is critical for automotive - this ASIC meets all the reliability requirements. I've used it in several 150kW+ inverter designs with excellent results. The Miller clamping is effective at preventing false turn-on during fast SiC switching. For automotive, the soft shutdown feature provides graceful fault handling. Thermal performance in the QFN package is good - we see <50°C junction at full drive."
