What offset voltage can Runic op-amps achieve?

Runic offers op-amps with industry-leading offset voltage specifications: (1) Zero-drift series (RS8xx) - 5μV max offset voltage with auto-zero calibration

(2) Precision series (RS7xx) - 50μV max offset for general precision applications

(3) General purpose (RS1xx/2xx) - 200μV-1mV offset for cost-sensitive designs. The zero-drift op-amps use chopper-stabilized or auto-zero topology to maintain low offset over temperature and time. Offset drift is as low as 0.01μV/°C for the best devices, making them ideal for high-gain instrumentation applications.

For high-gain applications (>100x), choose zero-drift. For general purpose, precision series offers good value.

What is the GBW range of Runic op-amps?

Runic op-amps cover a wide GBW range to suit different applications: (1) Low-bandwidth (<100kHz) - for sensor conditioning and slow signals

(2) Medium-bandwidth (100kHz-1MHz) - for general-purpose signal processing

(3) High-bandwidth (1-10MHz) - for audio and medium-speed filtering

(4) Very high bandwidth (>10MHz) - for high-speed signal processing and video. The RS6xx high-speed series offers up to 50MHz GBW with 30V/μs slew rate, suitable for active filters and fast signal conditioning. Choose bandwidth 5-10x higher than your signal frequency for adequate gain margin.

Select GBW based on your signal frequency and required closed-loop gain. Use GBW = Gain × Bandwidth × 10 for margin.

How low is the power consumption of Runic low-power op-amps?

Runic ultra-low-power op-amps consume minimal power for battery applications: (1) RS3xx series - <1μA supply current per amplifier at 5V

(2) RS2xx series - 10-50μA for low-power general purpose

(3) RS1xx series - 100-500μA for standard applications. The ultra-low-power devices achieve this through advanced CMOS design and power-down modes. Even at <1μA, these op-amps maintain reasonable bandwidth (10-100kHz) and offset voltage (50-200μV), making them suitable for sensor conditioning in IoT and wearable devices.

For battery applications with continuous operation, choose RS3xx. For intermittent operation, RS2xx offers good balance.

What packages are available for Runic op-amps?

Runic op-amps are available in industry-standard packages: (1) SOT23-5 - single op-amp in smallest footprint (2.9×2.8mm)

(2) SC70-5 - even smaller (2.0×2.1mm) for space-constrained designs

(3) MSOP-8 - dual op-amp in compact 3×3mm

(4) SOIC-8 - industry standard for easy prototyping

(5) TSSOP-14 - quad op-amp for high density. All packages are RoHS compliant and support standard SMT assembly. The small packages (SOT23, SC70) enable high channel density in portable devices.

Use SOT23 or SC70 for space-constrained designs, SOIC for prototyping, MSOP for balanced size and solderability.
