Frequently Asked Questions
What is the power consumption of LFD2NX-40?
The LFD2NX-40 achieves industry-leading low power with static power in the microwatt range and dynamic power significantly lower than competing 40K logic cell FPGAs. Exact power depends on design and operating frequency.
LFD2NX-40 offers the lowest power consumption for 40K logic cell FPGAs, ideal for battery-powered applications.
What is the smallest package available?
The LFD2NX-40 is available in an ultra-compact 4x4mm WLCSP-36 package, representing one of the smallest FPGA packages available in the industry today. This tiny footprint enables designers to create ultra-compact designs for space-constrained applications such as wearable devices, portable electronics, and miniature IoT sensors. The small package size does not compromise functionality, as it still provides sufficient I/O and logic resources for many Edge AI and control applications.
4x4mm WLCSP package enables ultra-compact designs for space-constrained applications.
Does it support PCIe?
Yes, the LFD2NX-40 includes hardened PCI Express (PCIe) Gen2 x2 IP that provides high-speed connectivity to host processors while maintaining the device's ultra-low power characteristics. This integrated hard IP reduces FPGA resource utilization and power consumption compared to soft IP implementations, making it ideal for applications requiring high-speed data transfer such as edge AI accelerators, industrial vision systems, and 5G small cells.
Integrated PCIe Gen2 hard IP provides high-speed connectivity with low power.
What memory interfaces are supported?
The LFD2NX-40 supports multiple high-performance memory interfaces including DDR3, DDR3L, and LPDDR4 with hardened memory controllers. These interfaces enable high-bandwidth external memory access for data buffering, frame storage, and processing applications. The hardened memory controllers reduce FPGA resource usage and simplify design while providing reliable, high-performance memory connectivity for demanding Edge Computing applications.
DDR3/LPDDR4 support enables high-performance external memory interfaces.
