"The CT25-16 is a versatile triac for AC switching applications. The 1600V rating is excellent for 240V systems with high line voltage or transients. The 25A rating handles up to 6kW resistive loads. I use these in heater controllers, fan speed controls, and lighting dimmers. Four-quadrant triggering is convenient - works with positive or negative gate drive. The TO-220 package is easy to mount and heatsink. At 20A continuous, dissipation is about 30W - manageable with modest heatsinking. Commutation is reliable at 50-60Hz.
