Product Overview

Description

The Firstack FSW100-1700 power stack is engineered for high-reliability wind power applications. This 100kW three-phase inverter stack combines 1700V IGBT modules with Firstack's intelligent gate driver technology to deliver exceptional performance in onshore and offshore wind converters. The liquid-cooled thermal design maintains safe operating temperatures even in high ambient conditions typical of nacelle installations.

The stack includes comprehensive protection features including overcurrent detection, multi-point temperature monitoring, and DESAT protection. The optimized DC link design minimizes stray inductance for clean switching waveforms. All components are selected for long-term reliability in wind applications with 20-year design life. The stack is fully tested and includes detailed documentation for system integration.

"I've deployed the FSW100-1700 in multiple wind converter projects, and it's proven extremely reliable. The 1700V rating provides good safety margin for 690V systems, and the >98% efficiency is genuine - we've measured 98.2% at rated power. The liquid cooling design is well-engineered with even thermal distribution. What impresses me most is the protection system - the multi-point temperature monitoring caught an abnormal condition in one installation before damage occurred. For wind applications, I recommend derating to 85kW continuous for 20-year life. The documentation is comprehensive, making integration straightforward."

Frequently Asked Questions

What wind converter applications is FSW100-1700 designed for?

The FSW100-1700 is designed for 690V AC wind power converters typically found in 1.0-2.0MW turbines. The 1700V rating provides safety margin for grid transients. Applications include: generator-side converters (active rectifiers), grid-side inverters, and full-scale converter systems. The liquid cooling suits nacelle installations with existing cooling systems. The stack can be paralleled for higher power ratings. Typical turbine configurations use 6-12 stacks for 1.5-2.0MW systems.

What cooling system requirements does FSW100-1700 have?

The FSW100-1700 requires liquid cooling with the following specifications: Coolant - Water/glycol mixture (50/50 typical); Flow rate - 10-15 L/min per stack; Inlet temperature - 25-40°C; Pressure drop - <0.5 bar at rated flow; Cooling capacity - 3-4kW heat rejection. The stack includes quick-connect fittings and is compatible with standard wind turbine cooling systems. Thermal interface material is pre-applied. Ensure coolant quality to prevent corrosion and maintain flow rates for reliable operation.
