"The SIM-MOT-01 provides a solid foundation for DC motor control. The ASM30 MCU has excellent motor control peripherals and the H-bridge using SM4015N MOSFETs handles typical automotive motors well. The stall detection and current limiting protect both motor and driver. The software includes ramp-up/down algorithms for smooth operation. I've used this in window lift and seat control applications with excellent results."

Frequently Asked Questions

What motor types can this control?

The SIM-MOT-01 controls brushed DC motors commonly used in automotive applications. It supports: 1) Standard DC motors - single direction with PWM speed control, 2) Reversible DC motors - H-bridge configuration for bidirectional control, 3) Various power levels - up to 15A peak with appropriate heat sinking. Not suitable for brushless DC (BLDC) or stepper motors which require different drive electronics.
