FAE Expert Insights
"SL40T65F is an excellent choice for 5-10kW motor drive applications. The 40A rating with low VCE(sat) provides excellent efficiency for industrial drives. I've used this part in servo drive designs where the low saturation voltage helps achieve >96% inverter efficiency. The integrated diode saves board space and ensures matched thermal characteristics. For best performance, use a robust gate driver with negative turn-off voltage and adequate dead time control."
