FAE Expert Insights
"The SGM8199 provides excellent accuracy for high-side current sensing. The 10uV offset voltage enables accurate measurement even with small sense resistors, reducing power loss. The wide 60V common-mode range handles most motor drive applications. I have used this part in BLDC motor drives for precise torque control. The multiple gain options provide flexibility for different current ranges. For best accuracy, use Kelvin connections for the sense resistor and place the amplifier close to the sense resistor. The low quiescent current makes it suitable for battery-powered applications as well."
