HG74HC595
High-speed CMOS 8-bit serial-in parallel-out shift register with output latches.
Product Overview
Description
The HG74HC595 is an 8-bit serial-in parallel-out shift register with 3-state output registers. High-speed CMOS technology enables operation up to 100MHz.
Features separate clocks for shift register and storage register, allowing data to be held while new data is shifted in. Serial data input and output for cascading multiple devices.
Ideal for expanding I/O ports, driving LEDs, and interfacing microcontrollers to parallel devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many can be cascaded?
Multiple HG74HC595 can be cascaded by connecting Q7' output of one to DS input of next. No theoretical limit, but propagation delay increases with chain length.
