How many nodes can be connected to an RS-485 bus?
The ACM485 supports up to 256 nodes on a single RS-485 bus. This is achieved through 1/8 unit load receiver input impedance (96kΩ). Standard RS-485 transceivers support 32 nodes (1 unit load). The maximum bus length is 1200 meters at lower data rates. For 20Mbps operation, maximum cable length is approximately 15 meters.
